Yogi is a loving 6 year old spayed Border Collie Mix. Her true joys lie in the simple pleasures of belly rubs, cuddling, walking, swimming, and hiking, where she can revel in the great outdoors. She is very happy when she is at home in the presence of others.

Yogi thrives in the company of adults, showering them with affection and loyalty. She is silly and playful and will frequently request more love by waving, placing her paw on you, or bringing you her favorite toys with the hope that you will throw it.

Yogi has professional training with use of an E-collar and knows commands including sit, stay , down, wave hello, and kiss. She is up to date on all shots and vaccines. Yogi is very easy to bond with.

Yogi grew up going to the dog park and going on walks or runs daily. She made immense progress with professional training but is leash reactive towards some other dogs. Although it is far from daily behavior, 3 times Yogi has turned to nip the person walking her when she is barking/ pulling at other dogs almost like she is trying to pull you away. In these moments her instincts take over and despite her training she does not listen. For this reason if she is to be walked she requires someone who can handle these episodes. She has had a few scuffles at the dog park and has bullied smaller dogs. The dogs she does vs. doesn't do well with is not completely predictable, therefore, she does best in environments where she doesn't need to encounter other dogs often. This makes bustling environments including cafe's and breweries difficult for her. Yogi has also demonstrated herding behaviors with children and would do best in a home with no one younger than 12. She is currently taking fluoxetine to calm some of her anxieties when other dogs are present however the behaviors still exist and it is not evident if this has or hasn't helped. There is no doubt that Yogi would never be aggressive in a home environment when other dogs were not involved.
