Amos
Pit Bull Terrier (mix)
Amos is a happy, energetic senior pit bull mix. He was a staff favorite in a high-kill California shelter and now is at our Stagecoach sanctuary where he is awaiting a forever family. Short walks and a comfy bed to sleep on are all it will take to make Amos even happier. He loves to give kisses and is friendly to people of all ages.
Amos has a neuter appointment in early April. Please complete an online adoption or foster application at www.tahoewarf.org if you think you can help Amos!

Bellini
Shar Pei - Pit Bull Terrier (mix)
Bellini is a young female who is super active, loves to play fetch, play with her siblings and play tug. Her mom has an extremely urgent medical issue and has only until the end of February to find Bellini a safe place. She is very sweet but is a big chicken dog, likes to attach herself to you, is vocal and needs to be with a confident dog (Massimo perhaps?)
She does not know how to meet other dogs without fear, but does well with male dogs overall. Females it is on a dog by dog basis.
She is primarily an indoor dog, loves to sleep in the bed and loves sunning and exploring nature.
A stern word is all that is needed for correction of bad behavior. She is catlike on her need to be underfoot. She would do well with older children. Cats are unknown.
She needs to be re-homed due to her owner's health issues. If you are interested in learning more, please contact sam@tahoewarf.org or call 775-338-6631. To foster or adopt, please fill out an application at www.tahoewarf.org

Chelsea
Calico (mix)
Chelsea came to us when her owner had to go into assisted living. She came with Savannah who we think might be her daughter but no solid information is available.
Chelsea is a sweet, loving kitty who loves her food and is looking for a place to live forever, with Savannah if at all possible as they have been together for the lives.
If you are interested, please fill out and application at www.tahoewarf.org and call or text 775-846-3773 to arrange an appointment to meet her. She is currently at our sanctuary in Stagecoach.

Massimo
Weimaraner - Pit Bull Terrier (mix)
Massimo is a strapping young pup with a sweet disposition and a tail that never stops wagging.
He wants nothing more than to play with his siblings, be praised and get an occasional tummy rub.
He has a funny gait and is a bit uncoordinated but he is still young and learning.
He is fairly independent, but prefers to have a friend rather than not so would do well with another dog. He currently lives with Bellini, but they need to be re-homed due to urgent health issues of his owner. We have until the end of February to find a safe landing spot for Massimo.
He is a couch potato, but does enjoy a trip to the park and is good on a leash once his harness is on, which is sometimes a challenge! He would do well with older children, cats are unknown.
If you are interested in more information, contact sam@tahoewarf.org or call 775-338-6631. To foster or adopt, please fill out an application at www.tahoewarf.org.

Mercury
Pit Bull Terrier (mix)
Look at this face!! Mercury is a big-headed, big-hearted soul who was dumped and turned into a high-kill shelter in CA.
He was so sad in the shelter, but has brightened up considerably since he was brought to WARF. He is timid but warms up fast, turning into the biggest love bug in the world. Mercury is house-trained and well-mannered; he really would love life as a couch potato! He is playful but only at appropriate times. He rides well in the car and is a clean, quiet, big-hearted soul who just needs the chance to steal your heart. Guess at age is somewhere between two and four. A quiet environment would be best. He is not good with other animals.
If you are interested in Mercury, please fill out an application at www.tahoewarf.org and call Sam at 775-338-6631.

Pandora
Domestic Short Hair (mix)
Pandora is a middle-aged who was returned when her owner fell on hard times. She is sweet and loving, and really doesn't want to be back at a shelter.
If you are interested in meeting her, she is currently at our sanctuary in Stagecoach.
To foster or adopt, please fill out an application at www.tahoewarf.org.

Phoenix
Husky (mix)
Phoenix is a young adult who came to us very shy but with the help of an experienced foster home, he's been really coming out of his shell. He loves to engage and is playful with humans, sits pretty for treats, learning to do the down, and working on other basic commands. Oh, yes, Phoenix will need regular brushing and grooming.
Phoenix does have a bite history and tends to be a resource-guarder with humans, so he needs a very stable environment with a calm person who will need to be his leader and guide. He also had surgery recently for hip dysplasia, but is recovering well and not letting that slow him down.
Phoenix was an owner surrender and lived with a cat in his prior home - but cat introductions should be done slowly.
If you are interested, please fill out an application at www.tahoewarf.org.

Rosie
Pit Bull Terrier (mix)
She's your Grandma Rose. She's sweet and sassy - has not met a person she doesn't like and scooch on over so she can snuggle with you.
She's wise - house-trained, crate trained and easy on leash.
Rose may be 10 but she gets around fine - mail walking or hitting the trails for a short hike - she's game. Rosie is looking for active retirement home with a full social calendar that includes that includes on a soft cushy, and plenty of cuddle time.
Rose is in foster with 2 other dogs and is has her moments. Probably best as a solo dog and definitely no cats! She's very mobile, charging up and down the stairs and marching through the neighborhood to visit all her favorite peeps.
If you are interested in adopting Rose, please fill out an application at www.tahoewarf.org.

Savannah
Domestic Long Hair-gray (mix)
Savannah came to us when her owner had to go into assisted living. She came with Chelsea who we think might be her mother but no solid information is available.
Savannah is a very shy cat but will warm up after time. She is a long haired beauty and would love a place to land, with Chelsea if at all possible as they have been together for the lives.
If you are interested, please fill out and application at www.tahoewarf.org and call or text 775-846-3773 to arrange an appointment to meet her. She is currently at our sanctuary in Stagecoach.

Dixie
English Pointer (purebred)
Meet Dixie! 10 year old English Pointer. She may be a ’Senior', but she certainly doesn't act it. She enthusiastically goes on walks — but needs limits set, because of her arthritis! English Pointers don’t know when to stop!!! She gets along with other dogs in a public environment but prefers her home to herself -- so she will need to be the only dog in the household. She deserves that luxury, after all she’s been through. Dixie really is a total sweetheart, will bond quickly and strongly, and will make a great home companion and outdoor fun-buddy! How can anyone resist that face?? *** COURTESY LISTING *** PLEASE CALL OR E-MAIL THE PERSON LISTED. DO NOT CONTACT WARF AS WE HAVE NO FURTHER INFO. Lizzy
Mastiff - Husky (mix)
*** COURTESY LISTING *** PLEASE CALL OR E-MAIL THE PERSON LISTED. DO NOT CONTACT WARF AS WE HAVE NO FURTHER INFO.
Lizzy is a senior dog rescued in London 7 years ago. She is a husky mastiff cross. She has very good genetics, is very loving, but very aggressive to other animals, some males and children. With another small dog in the home (also a rescue) and small children, it has become untenable to continue to keep Lizzy.
The owner has decided to try and re-home her. Lizzy will be an amazing dog for the right home, but it will need to be closely screened. An ideal candidate would be a female with no children or other dogs. She has no health issues and is in extremely good physical condition.
If interested, please contact Dylan at dh@navxpartners.com. A re-homing fee will apply.

SAVING LIVES, ONE ANIMAL AT A TIME.
The Wylie Animal Rescue Foundation (WARF) is a small group of volunteers dedicated to rescuing companion animals. We rescue animals that are in imminent danger of euthanasia, usually directly from the euthanasia holding rooms of local shelters.
We have rescued thousands of animals from certain death, but millions more were not so lucky and died--unloved and unwanted--in shelters across the country. We hope that you can help us turn the tide of suffering and death.
We rely on donations to fund emergency medical treatment, spay/neuter, and rescue. Please click here to make a one-time or recurring donation. We and the animals thank you!
