Amos
Pit Bull Terrier
Amos is a happy, energetic senior pit bull mix. He was a staff favorite in a high-kill California shelter and now is at our Stagecoach sanctuary where he is awaiting a forever family. Short walks and a comfy bed to sleep on are all it will take to make Amos even happier. He loves to give kisses and is friendly to people of all ages.
Amos has a neuter appointment in early April. Please complete an online adoption or foster application at www.tahoewarf.org if you think you can help Amos!

Blackie
Domestic Long Hair-black
Blackie is a Black, long haired, domestic weighing 8 lbs. All vaccinations are current and are not due again until February of 2024. Also, she was recently spayed. She did not have any litter of kittens prior to being spayed.
Blackie gets along well with the dogs in her current foster home. . She is playful and loves chasing the "lit red dot" around the house. Other toys will hold her interest as well. She uses a scratching post, leaving the furniture alone for the most part and between play times is content to sit quietly around people. She is very talkative and responds when spoken to. She does not bite or scratch people. Not much of a lap cat.
She is not a fussy eater, eating both wet and dry food twice per day.
She is a door darter as are many cats, so will need a secure environment where she cannot escape into the outdoors. We feel she will adjust well in a family home where she can roam the indoors freely. She is very friendly and content around people. If you would like to know more or are interested in meeting her, please fill out an application at www.tahoewarf.org and we will be in touch!

Blake
Husky
Look at this handsome boy. Blake is a cuddle bug who loves attention. View a video here: https://youtu.be/I4t7YnH5CBo
he would be great as a second dog in a husky home or with another dog his size who loves to play. He needs some brush-up training, but is smart and eager to learn.
If you are interested in meeting Blake, please fill out an application at www.tahoewarf.org

Chelsea
Calico
Chelsea came to us when her owner had to go into assisted living. She came with Savannah who we think might be her daughter but no solid information is available.
Chelsea is a sweet, loving kitty who loves her food and is looking for a place to live forever, with Savannah if at all possible as they have been together for the lives.
If you are interested, please fill out and application at www.tahoewarf.org and call or text 775-846-3773 to arrange an appointment to meet her. She is currently at our sanctuary in Stagecoach.

Mercury
Pit Bull Terrier
Look at this face!! Mercury is a big-headed, big-hearted soul who was dumped and turned into a high-kill shelter in CA.
He was so sad in the shelter, but has brightened up considerably since he was brought to WARF. He is timid but warms up fast, turning into the biggest love bug in the world. Mercury is house-trained and well-mannered; he really would love life as a couch potato! He is playful but only at appropriate times. He rides well in the car and is a clean, quiet, big-hearted soul who just needs the chance to steal your heart. Guess at age is somewhere between two and four. A quiet environment would be best. He is not good with other animals.
If you are interested in Mercury, please fill out an application at www.tahoewarf.org and call Sam at 775-338-6631.

Savannah
Domestic Long Hair-gray
Savannah came to us when her owner had to go into assisted living. She came with Chelsea who we think might be her mother but no solid information is available.
Savannah is a very shy cat but will warm up after time. She is a long haired beauty and would love a place to land, with Chelsea if at all possible as they have been together for the lives.
If you are interested, please fill out and application at www.tahoewarf.org and call or text 775-846-3773 to arrange an appointment to meet her. She is currently at our sanctuary in Stagecoach.

Shadow
Domestic Medium Hair-black and white
Shadow is a sweet, affectionate teenage kitten who loves a good snuggle and anything to play with. He was found wandering near our sanctuary and was taken in by a good Samaritan before coming to us.
He will be neutered the first week of June and is hoping for a forever home to land in as soon as possible. If you are interested, please fill out an application at www.tahoewarf.org.

Dixie
English Pointer
Meet Dixie! 10 year old English Pointer. She may be a ’Senior', but she certainly doesn't act it. She enthusiastically goes on walks — but needs limits set, because of her arthritis! English Pointers don’t know when to stop!!! She gets along with other dogs in a public environment but prefers her home to herself -- so she will need to be the only dog in the household. She deserves that luxury, after all she’s been through. Dixie really is a total sweetheart, will bond quickly and strongly, and will make a great home companion and outdoor fun-buddy! How can anyone resist that face?? *** COURTESY LISTING *** PLEASE CALL OR E-MAIL THE PERSON LISTED. DO NOT CONTACT WARF AS WE HAVE NO FURTHER INFO. Mastiff - Husky
*** COURTESY LISTING *** PLEASE CALL OR E-MAIL THE PERSON LISTED. DO NOT CONTACT WARF AS WE HAVE NO FURTHER INFO.
Lizzy is a senior dog rescued in London 7 years ago. She is a husky mastiff cross. She has very good genetics, is very loving, but very aggressive to other animals, some males and children. With another small dog in the home (also a rescue) and small children, it has become untenable to continue to keep Lizzy.
The owner has decided to try and re-home her. Lizzy will be an amazing dog for the right home, but it will need to be closely screened. An ideal candidate would be a female with no children or other dogs. She has no health issues and is in extremely good physical condition.
If interested, please contact Dylan at dh@navxpartners.com. A re-homing fee will apply.

Lola And Coco
Akita
*** COURTESY LISTING *** PLEASE CALL OR E-MAIL THE PERSON LISTED. DO NOT CONTACT WARF AS WE HAVE NO FURTHER INFO.
Coco (on the right in the picture) is a 1.5 year old spayed female Akita. She loves to be petted and to snuggle. Coco likes to go for long romps and play with Lola. Lola (on the left in the picture) is a 6.5 year old spayed female Akita. She loves to have her belly rubbed and to do tricks for treats (shake and play dead). Both girls are super mellow, sit, down, and walk on a leash. They are good with children.
Small animals including cats are out because Akitas have a drive to hunt. Best scenario? A wonderful home with a large fenced yard and people who are home during the day that could adopt both girls. If not possible to adopt both dogs, we are seeking a home for Coco. We have to find another home because there are big problems with allergies. The girls are very attached to each other. Coco would do well with a home where someone was home to keep her company.
The girls are inside dogs at night and outside during the day. With a stern word, Coco will lay down and roll over. Lola seeks to please.
The girls need to be re-homed due to the owner's health issues. If you are interested in learning more, please text 303-601-9659. Rehoming fee required. The dogs are located in New Mexico. Transport may be possible depending on location.

SAVING LIVES, ONE ANIMAL AT A TIME.
The Wylie Animal Rescue Foundation (WARF) is a small group of volunteers dedicated to rescuing companion animals. We rescue animals that are in imminent danger of euthanasia, usually directly from the euthanasia holding rooms of local shelters.
We have rescued thousands of animals from certain death, but millions more were not so lucky and died--unloved and unwanted--in shelters across the country. We hope that you can help us turn the tide of suffering and death.
We rely on donations to fund emergency medical treatment, spay/neuter, and rescue. Please click here to make a one-time or recurring donation. We and the animals thank you!
