Bellini
Shar Pei - Pit Bull Terrier (mix)
Bellini is a young female who is super active, loves to play fetch, play with her siblings and play tug. She is very sweet but is a big chicken dog, likes to attach herself to you, is vocal and needs to be with a confident dog (Massimo perhaps?)
She does not know how to meet other dogs without fear, but does well with male dogs overall. Females it is on a dog by dog basis.
She is primarily an indoor dog, loves to sleep in the bed and loves sunning and exploring nature.
A stern word is all that is needed for correction of bad behavior. She is catlike on her need to be underfoot. She would do well with older children. Cats are unknown.
She needs to be re-homed due to her owner's health issues. If you are interested in learning more, please contact sam@tahoewarf.org or call 775-338-6631. To foster or adopt, please fill out an application at www.tahoewarf.org

Sweet Carmela needs a temporary foster ASAP. She will be spayed on Monday and also is having some masses removed, but because both eyes are blind and painful, she will also have both gloves removed while she is under anesthesia. Massimo
Weimaraner - Pit Bull Terrier (mix)
Massimo is a strapping young pup with a sweet disposition and a tail that never stops wagging. When rescued, he had a skin infection that has been treated. Most of his fur has grown back in but it is inconsistent in texture, length and color, making him a special patchwork breed!
He wants nothing more than to play with his siblings, be praised and get an occasional tummy rub.
He has a funny gait and is a bit uncoordinated but he is still young and learning.
He is fairly independent, but prefers to have a friend rather than not so would do well with another dog. He currently lives with Bellini, but they need to be re-homed due to health issues of his owner.
He is a couch potato, but does enjoy a trip to the park and is good on a leash once his harness is on, which is sometimes a challenge! He would do well with older children, cats are unknown.

Mercury
Pit Bull Terrier (mix)
Look at this face!! Mercury is a big-headed, big-hearted soul who was dumped and turned into a high-kill shelter in CA.
He was so sad in the shelter, but has brightened up considerably since he was brought to WARF. He is timid but warms up fast, turning into the biggest love bug in the world. Mercury is house-trained and well-mannered; he really would love life as a couch potato! He is playful but only at appropriate times. He rides well in the car and is a clean, quiet, big-hearted soul who just needs the chance to steal your heart. Guess at age is somewhere between two and four. A quiet environment would be best. He is not good with other animals.
If you are interested in Mercury, please fill out an application at www.tahoewarf.org and call Sam at 775-338-6631.

Phoenix
Husky (mix)
Phoenix is a young adult who came to us very shy but with the help of an experienced foster home, he's been really coming out of his shell. He loves to engage and is playful with humans, sits pretty for treats, learning to do the down, and working on other basic commands. Oh, yes, Phoenix will need regular brushing and grooming.
Phoenix does have a bite history and tends to be a resource-guarder with humans, so he needs a very stable environment with a calm person who will need to be his leader and guide. He also has severe hip dysplasia and will be undergoing surgery in early January. He will need ongoing care and rehab after surgery.
Phoenix was an owner surrender and lived with a cat in his prior home - but cat introductions should be done slowly.

Scruffy
Terrier (mix)
Scruffy is a (5) year old male poodle mix with a lot of personality. Scruffy struggles with resource guarding his person, but has been going through training to help with this behavior. A successful home for Scruffy would include an active individual interested in training and creating a structured environment to help him flourish in a world he hasn’t had the opportunity to fully explore.
Although Scruffy is a small dog, he requires mental and physical enrichment daily to keep him from escaping fencing, relieve frustration and energy, and keep him from excessively barking. Neutral dogs or those that give him his space are great companions for Scruffy as he does enjoy to play once comfortable in his new home.
Scruffy is cat friendly, but may chase while in the beginning if proper introductions are not done. Children are not compatible with Scruffy due to how cute he is and how hard it can be for children to not pet him. Scruffy may be a cuddly lap dog with his person, but we do want to prepare his next home by being honest with his bite history during an adoption meeting.
Individuals interested in adopting Scruffy need to be comfortable with the use of a muzzle in public in addition to understanding he is not compatible with dog parks or any off leash events. We will support the adopter with education on all of these aspects. If you are interested in meeting this smart, energetic, and versatile poodle mix please inquire with Wylie Animal Rescue Foundation to have a meeting with their trainer.

Dixie
English Pointer (purebred)
Meet Dixie! 10 year old English Pointer. She may be a ’Senior', but she certainly doesn't act it. She enthusiastically goes on walks — but needs limits set, because of her arthritis! English Pointers don’t know when to stop!!! She gets along with other dogs in a public environment but prefers her home to herself -- so she will need to be the only dog in the household. She deserves that luxury, after all she’s been through. Dixie really is a total sweetheart, will bond quickly and strongly, and will make a great home companion and outdoor fun-buddy! How can anyone resist that face?? *** COURTESY LISTING *** PLEASE CALL OR E-MAIL THE PERSON LISTED. DO NOT CONTACT WARF AS WE HAVE NO FURTHER INFO. Lizzy
Mastiff - Husky (mix)
*** COURTESY LISTING *** PLEASE CALL OR E-MAIL THE PERSON LISTED. DO NOT CONTACT WARF AS WE HAVE NO FURTHER INFO.
Lizzy is a senior dog rescued in London 7 years ago. She is a husky mastiff cross. She has very good genetics, is very loving, but very aggressive to other animals, some males and children. With another small dog in the home (also a rescue) and small children, it has become untenable to continue to keep Lizzy.
The owner has decided to try and re-home her. Lizzy will be an amazing dog for the right home, but it will need to be closely screened. An ideal candidate would be a female with no children or other dogs. She has no health issues and is in extremely good physical condition.
If interested, please contact Dylan at dh@navxpartners.com. A re-homing fee will apply.

SAVING LIVES, ONE ANIMAL AT A TIME.
The Wylie Animal Rescue Foundation (WARF) is a small group of volunteers dedicated to rescuing companion animals. We rescue animals that are in imminent danger of euthanasia, usually directly from the euthanasia holding rooms of local shelters.
We have rescued thousands of animals from certain death, but millions more were not so lucky and died--unloved and unwanted--in shelters across the country. We hope that you can help us turn the tide of suffering and death.
We rely on donations to fund emergency medical treatment, spay/neuter, and rescue. Please click here to make a one-time or recurring donation. We and the animals thank you!
