Poor Mira was picked up as a stray in the Central Valley. On arrival at the shelter, she was emaciated and was noted to be diabetic. Mira immediately went on the euthanasia list, as the shelter does not have the resources to treat conditions like diabetes, and she was in poor condition already. Thankfully, a volunteer who has previously had diabetic animals saw the post, and Mira is now safely in foster care receiving the treatment that she needs. She is almost totally blind but bravely navigates new environments, trusting in her people to keep her safe. She gets along with other dogs and is learning about cats. Mira is a smart, happy dog who loves attention and thinks that she is a lap dog.
